Thank you for your interest in On Track Publishers. After a forty-year career as a Mechanical Engineer, Mr. Steinbrenner published three books about the American Locomotive Company (ALCO). The American Locomotive Company: A Centennial Remembrance is widely regarded as the authoritative history of the company he became so passionate about while attending Union College in Schenectady, New York (ALCO headquarters). Old Maud – A Life and Times, written by Gregory Ames, was published in 2006. His final book, ALCO’s DL-640 Locomotive, which he co-authored with Christopher MacDermot, was published in 2008.
